HOW WE OPERATE
VACCINATIONS REQUIRED
Please request the appropriate type of unit for your cat's vaccination status.
We do recommend vaccinating for the health of your cat.

For Geriatric or Special needs cats. Annual to 3 yearly required – as per your vet’s recommendation

Apartments - Comprised of 3 compartments; Bedroom, Dining room and Bathroom. Quiet and secluded, ideal for Geriatric or Special needs cats who prefer to stay indoors.
Individual units - Garden view rooms, favoured by inside cats. For 1 or 2 family members.
Individual units - Garden view rooms, favoured by inside cats. For 2 or more family members. Interconnecting doors make for even bigger spaces for the larger families.

Individual units - Balcony access rooms. Double & Single units.

Individual units - These Balcony units have unrestricted outdoor access, with rural views towards Mt Taranaki.
Semi-Communal spaces with individual night cubicles and large common room, plus unrestricted outdoor access. Numbers capped at 9 guests, for a Boutique experience.

6 new Patio Suites. These Individual units have double glazing to provide a quiet, calm atmosphere, with split cycle air-conditioning for the perfect temperature, year round. Each suite has ranch slider and opening window, offering unrestricted access to their own, floor to ceiling outdoor patio space.

RATES AND PAYMENT
Rates: As of June 2025
For our valued customers who have already made bookings, we are honouring the fees as set at the last price review in Feb 2023.
INDIVIDUAL: Apartments / Garden View Rooms / Balcony Units / Patio Suites
Please state your preference at the time of booking and we will do our utmost to accommodate your request.
1 Guest $24 / day
2 Guests (same family, sharing) $40 / day (= $8 discount for 2nd Guest)
3 Guests (same family, sharing) $52 / day (= $12 discount for 3rd Guest)
4 Guests (same family, sharing) $62 / day (= $14 discount for 4th Guest)
5 Guests (same family, sharing) $70 / day (= $16 discount for 5th Guest)
SEMI-COMMUNAL: For guests who have proven compatibility with cats from a different household.
1 Guest $20 / day
Each additional Guest (same family) $18 / day
Public Holiday and Christmas Surcharge: $5 per cat per day.
- Charges are per day, minimum charge 2 days.
- The day of arrival and day of departure are both charged as a full day.
- We charge for all days booked regardless of later check-in/earlier check-out.
- We have a 4-day minimum booking period over the Easter long weekend and a 5-day minimum booking period over Christmas and New Year. A surcharge of $5/cat applies during the minimum booking periods and all other Public Holidays. Aside from these days, our fees remain as above. We do not charge extra during other school holiday/peak periods.
Administering Medications
- Free of charge generally. However, we reserve the right and may charge a nominal fee for dealing with difficult recipients or administering injections and medications after hours.
- Please provide original written instructions from your Vet.
Out of Hours Check-in/Check-out
- Available by pre-arrangement.
- $25 per instance applies.
- Please check the days we are closed before booking.
- See EXPRESS Service if you need some wiggle room at no extra charge.
Pick-up/Drop-off Service
- Door to door based on distance (return trip) traveled @$1/km.
Veterinary Clinic Charges
- Travel charge $30 (Inglewood, Waitara, Bell Block and New Plymouth clinics).
- Veterinary fees, if applicable, are either added to your boarding bill or put on your Vet Clinic account.
Discounts & Reductions
- After 28 days a discount of 5% applies for the duration of the stay.
- As it takes longer to prepare separate meals, there is no reduction for bringing your own food.
Price Changes
- Our rates are reviewed annually and are subject to change without notice.
- Any changes apply to bookings already made.
Payment
- Payment is due at check-in and all extra charges incurred by check-out.
- We accept payment by EFTPOS, cash and bank deposit. We do not have credit card or payWave facilities.
- Deposits are required for bookings during Christmas/New Year period 24th December - 5th January.
- After 1st December Christmas/New Year deposits are non-refundable.
CANCELLATIONS
Deposits for bookings during Christmas/New Year period 24th December to 5th January are non-refundable after 1st December.
As we do not charge for any other cancellations (other than No Shows), please give us as much notice as possible.
WHAT WE PROVIDE
The more information you give us, the better we can tailor our services to meet your cat’s needs.
The following are included:
- Food, including treats & clean, filtered water, fresh daily with food and water bowls washed after each use.
- Beds & bedding; Kitty litter & litter trays; Toys, cat towers & scratch posts.
- A copy of your cat's Daily Diary for you to take home.
- Updates of your cat’s wellbeing, including photos on request during their stay.
- Soothing and classical music played throughout the day.
- Complimentary room upgrades, pending availability and suitability.
- Heat pads for arthritic, elderly or hairless cats.
- We also have split cycle air conditioning, providing the perfect temperature year round, plus DVS ventilation.
- Opening windows and doors with security grills, to provide additional ventilation with garden & rural views.
- Administering of medication (tablets, oral suspensions, ointments, injections, inhalers).
- Maintenance grooming.
WHAT WE FEED
We provide premium food suited to the needs and life stage of your cat. This consists of:
- Dry food - Royal Canin biscuits (kitten and several non-prescription varieties of adult food stocked)
- Wet food - selection of canned/sachet food
- Treats - Creamy Treats, Puree Kiss and Temptations
Please bring any prescription food.
You may provide other food if you wish. As it takes longer to prepare separate meals, there is no discount for supplying your own food.
CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT TIMES
Your booking is an appointment for a date and time slot (morning or afternoon).
Please keep to your arranged check-in and check-out times as we may not open when there are no scheduled movements.
If your plans/circumstances change, please update us ASAP, preferably in writing - by text if your cat is already in board -

EXPRESS SERVICE
Our EXPRESS service involves handover of cat in carry crate at Reception (or your car) instead of seeing your cat into or from their boarding unit. Feel free to request this if you need to be somewhere in a hurry, it helps you out for us to get your cat ready to go, or you find it hard to get your cat into their carry crate. Of course if you need a contactless process then this is the one to request.
Need some wiggle room? We also provide our EXPRESS service for Check-in and Check-out 30 minutes either side of our normal hours, by prior arrangement and without extra charge.
Please note:
EXPRESS Check-in: we do expect a discussion with you on your cat’s current health status if:
- you are a new client
- your cat has existing health conditions
- your cat has a new condition/requirements.
EXPRESS Check-out: please provide an arrival time and update us as necessary on the day. This will ensure that your cat spends the minimum amount of time waiting in their carry crate.
OUT OF HOURS
We appreciate you respecting our opening hours and the appointments (check-in and check-out dates and times) that you have booked. By prior arrangement we may open outside our normal hours. Note that we also have shutdowns as indicated in Holiday Closures, any agreed check-ins and check-outs during this time are Out of Hours.
Out of Hours fee will apply (see Rates).
Please see our EXPRESS service if you need a little wiggle room around our open hours.
HOLIDAY CLOSURES THIS YEAR
2025 - Where Monday is the Public Holiday, with Cats In House, we will be CLOSED all Saturday, all Sunday and Monday morning. Reopen Monday afternoon for drop offs and pick ups.

EASTER, CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR BOOKINGS
Please note: Opening Hours during these times are different and will be in our confirmation emails to you.
We have a 4-day minimum booking period over the Easter long weekend and a 5-day minimum booking period over Christmas and New Year.
Our Christmas booking period runs from 24th December to 5th January each year. The minimum charge during this time is 5 days. Yes, you may book for a shorter period of time, but the charge will be for 5 days. Your charge will be for all days booked, regardless of later check-in/earlier check-out.
For the Christmas booking period, we will send you an email Sept/Oct requesting a deposit to confirm your place. In the case of a cancellation, until 30th November we will Credit your deposit to a future booking. Deposits are non-refundable after 1st December.
USE OF IMAGES
Photos and/or videos we take of your cat may be used for sending you updates, our advertising, social media pages or website. This is optional and you can opt out of all photography if you wish.
